Frequenty Asked Questions:
Q: I am unable to see the images in my test log files.
A: You are most likely using an out-dated browser to view the log file. You may need to open the log file in an updated browser. The images can be either type JPG or PNG. PNG has advanced compression technology, but is a relatively new format. See the Technical Specs for more information about a plugin to make other browsers compatible.

Q: I only see a low-resolution version of my screen images in a log file.
A: First, maximize your browswer screen. Second, put your cursor on top of the image, and wait 1 second for an icon to appear in the lower-right corner of it. Clicking that icon will show you the full-screen version.
To fix this permanently, you will need to change your settings by the following steps:
#1. In Internet Explorer, select "Tools" > "Internet Options."
#2. In the Internet Options dialog box, choose the tab "Advanced."
#3. Scroll down to the "Multimedia" section.
#4. Uncheck the option "Enable Automatic Image Resizing."

Q: I Emailed a test log, but the recipient cannot save the attached file.
A: This occurs when you send an "unzipped" version of the file to someone using a webmail email account. For this reason, Screen Scavenger has included an automatic zipping functionality. If you navigate to the folder where you saved the test log, you will see a zipped version. That is the one you should email to anyone using webmail for best viewing results (and smaller file size).

Q: Instead of one test log, I see numerous files.
A: This occurs when you save a test log as a HTML file instead of as the file type that Screen Scavenger creates, which is a "Web Archive, Single File (*.mht)." file. Because Screen Scavenger automatically saves the MHT to the directory you chose when starting your test log, use either the zipped or unzipped version of the testlog found in that directory for emailing or uploading to issues-tracking systems. If you must use the "Save As" function on that file, be sure to change the file type to "Web Archive, Single File (*.mht)."
Q: If I choose to take screen images every time I click, will a double-click take two images?
A: No. Screen Scavenger can recognize double clicks. It takes only a single image upon double-clicking the mouse. The reasoning is that software that requires a double-click will not respond in any meaningful way to the first click.
